Team Brit sponsor support SUFST!

Carbon Fibre Tubes (CFT) are delighted to announce they have agreed a sponsorship deal to support the Southampton University Formula Student team (SUFST). SUFST is a student-run organisation within the University of Southampton with the aim to design, build, and compete with single-seater race car in Formula Student competitions. They build a new car each year, iterating upon previous seasons, with the aim of being more competitive each year. They have now transitioned from combustion vehicles to fully electric and have achieved great results. This has involved designing a student built custom high voltage battery and a new carbon fibre monocoque. Over the summer the team successfully ran their first electric car STAG X at the Formula Student UK competition at Silverstone. As a highly technical manufacturer of composite tubing, sheet and parts, Carbon Fibre Tubes are based in Hampshire, and have been long term suppliers into the Automotive sector. Working with Formula 1 teams, OEMs and customers in the luxury car market, they have designed and manufactured carbon fibre parts for a range of applications. They combine their experience in the automotive sector, with an interest in supporting academic outreach and innovation in this field. CFT are sponsors of Team Brit, and in addition to supporting the team in their ambitions to be the first all-disabled race team to compete in Le Mans 24, CFT also advise and manufacture carbon fibre parts for the car, such as the adaptive hand controls. Carbon Fibre Tubes are looking forward to supporting SUFST as they progress the car design and further improve the design. Rebecca Brackwell-Slade, Operations Director, had this to say about the relationship: “We are really excited to support the SUFST and proud to become Silver Sponsors. We have recently started working with the team, supporting them in their application of composites on the car, and are looking forward to seeing the results. Within our team we have several automotive engineers and some very keen motorsport fans. So, this alongside our support to Team Brit, makes for an exciting partnership”.
