Re-scrut & Endurance
Day 5 of the Formula Student UK (FSUK) 2024 competition at Silverstone began with a 6:30 am campsite briefing. By 7 am, we were back in the pits, ready to re-scrutineer for tech and safety. We passed both inspections in just five minutes, then headed to the brake test, which we passed on the first attempt.
With our car ready, we prepared for the endurance event and lined up for a couple of hours in the pit lane. Unfortunately, our car managed only 2.5 laps before a fault caused it to stop on the track. That evening we were awarded the Fastest Lap Time Simulation Formula Student Class during the awards ceremony.
After the event, we packed up our pits, loaded everything onto the lorry, and enjoyed a final dinner at the campsite—a barbecue. We departed the campsite on Monday morning.
In summary:
This year’s competition was a significant milestone for our team. Our first electric vehicle to successfully pass all stages of scrutineering and participate in a dynamic event. We are immensely proud of the entire team, whose hard work and dedication have set a strong foundation for next year's development.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors, donors, and supporters, as well as the university and the faculty, for their unwavering support. Your contributions were crucial to our success at FSUK 2024. Thank you!
