Support from Evolution Measurement Ltd!

A couple weeks ago, we had the pleasure of having our sponsor, Evolution Measurement Ltd, visit us at the University of Southampton! We were happy to welcome Iain Gordon, General Sales Manager, and Paul Crowhurst, Director! Their visit was a great opportunity to show them the engineering facilities, and the team development. We gave a tour of our Autolab, the wind tunnel, and more! They have generously provided us with tools to aid the gathering of reliable data in the wind tunnel and on track. They have sponsored us with an EvoScann P8-D Pressure Scanner, to join the other one they had provided us a few years ago, along with necessary accessories such as specialist soft tubing, stainless steel tubulations, and pressure patches! They are also able to provide us support with using the scanners and software effectively. We have recently changed from a 40% scale wind tunnel model to a 50% scale. We are looking to use these Pressure Scanners on our new wind tunnel model; this will allow us to precisely measure and analyse pressure distributions across the surface of our model. These scanners will help us advance our aerodynamic understanding by providing data that give us more detailed insights into how airflow interacts with different vehicle aerodynamic components. The partnership between SUFST and Evolution Measurement Ltd is a good example of how industry collaboration can enhance academic projects. With their continued support, we are confident we will be able to further develop our aerodynamic understanding and correlation between CFD, wind tunnel and track.
